Woof Naturals
Pet Care
Cheryl Nelson, a lifelong animal lover with a special fondness for dogs, combined her passion for baking and dogs to create Woof Naturals, a dog treat business. She founded the business around 10 years ago with a focus on making healthy, safe, and tasty treats for dogs. Woof Naturals treats are handcrafted in Cheryl and her husband Tony’s home kitchen using all-natural ingredients. A portion of the proceeds from Woof Naturals is donated to local animal shelters, reflecting Cheryl’s dedication to animals. Cheryl finds joy in the creative process and loves seeing people and dogs enjoy her baked creations. Though Cheryl leads the business, Tony assists with various tasks and helps sell at local farmers markets. Their family dogs serve as the official taste testers for every batch of treats. After a brief hiatus due to a move and the COVID-19 pandemic, Cheryl is excited to be back at the farmers market. Customers often joke that the treats look and taste good enough for humans—and Cheryl confirms she taste-tests every batch herself. Cheryl loves reconnecting with her hometown community, meeting fellow dog lovers, and being an active part of the farmers market scene.

Low Ridge Honey
Fresh Produce
Low Ridge Honey, based in Norwalk, is a family-run beekeeping operation led by Steve Kaiser, his wife Ann, and their three daughters. Steve began beekeeping eight years ago after learning about the threats facing pollinators. The entire family plays a role in the business, from building bee boxes to harvesting honey, which has brought them closer together. Their honey is pure, local, unpasteurized, and produced without high fructose corn syrup; bees forage naturally on organic land. While Steve sometimes supplements their diet with sugar water or candy, he mostly lets the bees manage themselves. He finds joy in watching the bees grow active in spring and expand through the summer, and he finds harvesting a strong honey crop especially rewarding. Low Ridge Honey typically maintains about 24 hives, though the number can vary. Steve admits wearing the beekeeper suit in the heat is his least favorite part—and once a bee even flew up his nose! Despite the occasional sting, Steve loves talking to people and is excited to join the Farmers Market this year. He encourages folks to try substituting honey for sugar in recipes, noting it’s healthier and only requires minor adjustments!

Kleinshire Farms
Fresh Produce
Kleinshire is an intentionally small family farm located in southwest Wisconsin's famed "Driftless Region" ten minutes from Cashton, and just thirty minutes from La Crosse and the Mississippi River. We are husband-and-wife partner-farmers (Franz & Rosemary), with six rambunctious young boys. We are committed to raising them in wide-open spaces where they can roam free and learn the value of hard work. While we've been homesteading for years, we are now in our sixth year of trying to make a living directly from our land. We grow certified organic produce both for wholesalers and for direct sales. We've developed an especially strong following for our certified organic hardneck garlic. We also offer free-range broiler chickens throughout the summer and fall, pasture-raised turkeys prior to Thanksgiving, and meat and dairy goats, with sales of high quality breeding stock and goat meat. We do not make use of any antibiotics or chemical wormers whatsoever in our animal husbandry. We are excited to make a "go" of the 2023 growing season. Check out our "products" page or get in touch to see what we currently have on offer. Thank you! https://kleinshire.square.site/

Sammy's Sudzy Soaps
Skincare & Wellness
Sammy’s Sudzy Soaps began with Dave having zero interest or knowledge about soap making, repeatedly dismissing the idea when it randomly came to mind. After it kept resurfacing, he asked a woman with experience who warned him it was expensive and time-consuming, which discouraged him again. But the idea wouldn't go away, so he eventually turned to YouTube to learn more and discovered the process wasn’t as complicated as he thought. Intrigued, Dave slowly started investing in supplies and experimenting, eventually finding it both fun and rewarding. Now, Sammy’s Sudzy Soaps offers 17 different fragrances in various colors, often matched to the scent when possible. Each bar is crafted with natural ingredients like olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, and jojoba oil, creating a moisturizing and long-lasting soap. The name of the business is inspired by Dave’s youngest daughter, Sammy, whose nickname gave the brand its playful identity. He was also influenced by Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy’s, who named his restaurants after his daughter. What started as a persistent idea turned into a fulfilling creative venture. Today, Dave continues to grow his soap-making business, crafting quality bars that reflect his passion and care.

Mike's Farm to Table
Homemade Food Products
Mike is a longtime gardener and beekeeper who brings a wide variety of traditional canned goods, pickles, jellies, and honey to the Farmers Market. He’s been gardening since childhood and has been keeping bees for the past sixteen years, finding great joy in both activities. Mike selects plant varieties that not only taste great but also preserve well through canning and pickling. He uses traditional methods for preparing his food, resulting in better texture and flavor than store-bought alternatives. His entire family is involved in the process, from planting and weeding to harvesting and selling at the market. Each step, from garden to jar to market table, takes time and care, which is reflected in the quality of his products. Mike loves being part of the market community and enjoys connecting with customers each weekend. He has many favorite parts of market life, but sharing stories and interacting with people stands out the most. His table is always filled with delicious options and a friendly welcome. If you stop by, Mike will be happy to chat and share the story behind the treats you’re taking home.

Schell Farm Gardens
Fresh Flowers
Traci from Schell Farm Gardens began selling extra garden produce and sunflowers at the Sparta Farmers Market in 2018 and immediately fell in love with the community and experience. By 2019, she officially launched Schell Farm Gardens and shifted her focus to growing cut flowers for bouquets. Although she had lifelong experience with vegetable gardening, raising cut flowers was a brand new and exciting challenge. Over the past five years, the business has expanded to include four large gardens and one unheated greenhouse. All flowers are grown locally in her backyard, with no outsourcing, emphasizing the value of seasonal, sustainable blooms. Traci's farm supports the Slow Flower Movement by reducing the environmental impact associated with imported flowers. Her seasonal offerings include tulips in May, peonies in June, and chrysanthemums in the fall. Customers can find her at the Sparta Farmers Market every Saturday or at Northwood Country Market, and she also offers Thursday deliveries. Traci is passionate about improving each season and sharing the beauty of local flowers. More information, including photos and blog updates, can be found on her website, www.schellfarmgardens.com.
